Current Information:Enlisted-Stratford Y Farm Military Cemetery, Bois-Grenier, France
According to the Battalion Diary, on 3rd July, 1915, the 2nd Middlesex battalion of 23 Brigade, 8th Division, were in divisional reserve and in billets at Rue des Bruges, Bac St Maur a few miles south-west of Armentières. The dairy gives no further information so it is not known how James Miles was killed on this day. Perhaps he fell victim to long-range artillery fire or maybe he was killed while on a working party nearer the front line. |
